DINING PLAN FAQs:

Q:  Do you have to use your food allotments each day?

A:  NO!  You don’t have to use your food credits by the day.  When you check into your Disney Resort, your Dining Plan is automatically activated.  ALL of your food credits are placed into your Dining Plan account upon check-in.

Example:  If you are staying at a Disney Resort for 7 nights, and you have purchased the Basic Disney Dining Plan, then when you check-in your Dining Plan account will have:  14 Snack Credits, 7 Quick Service Credits & 7 Table Service Credits.  You will also have 1 Credit for a Refillable Mug (you will “purchase” your mug using your credit at your Disney Resort food court or quick service location).

Q:  If I want to use all of my Quick Service credits on day 2, can I?  If I want to save all of my snack credits until the last day of my trip, can I?

A:  YES!  And YES!  Think of your Dining Plan account as a debit account.  All of your credits are available for use from the moment you check-in at your Disney Resort.  Use them as quickly or as slowly as you want.  Once you run out of credits, you are out of credits.  It’s that simple!

Your Dining Plan account expires at midnight the day that you check-out of your Disney Resort.  So if you are planning to go to a park on your last day, and you check-out prior to heading to the park, your credits are still good until midnight!

Q:  What do I do if I have several snack credits left over at the end of my trip?

A:  Many people will go to a gift shop or food court, and “purchase” snacks with their remaining credits to take home with them.  There are many packaged snack options that will stay good for a while.  This is a great way to bring home some Disney Magic!  Some of my favorite options for this are:  sealed bags of Main Street Kettle Corn and sealed packages of Goofy’s Sour Gummies from Goofy’s Candy Company (also available in most gift shops).

Q:  What do I do if I have several Quick Service credits left over at the end of my trip?

A:  You can trade 1 Quick Service credit for 3 Snack credits.  Simply ask for a manager’s help wherever you plan to purchase the snacks in place of the Quick Service credit.

Q:  Can I use a Table Service Credit at a Quick Service location?

A:  Yes, you can use 1 Table Service Credit as 1 Quick Service Credit, if you like.  However, you CAN NOT trade Quick Service Credits for Table Service Credits.

Q:  How do the Refillable Mugs work?

A:  Once you have “purchased” your Refillable Mug from your Disney Resort quick service dining location (using your mug credit), you can then use it for unlimited drink refills at Disney Resorts (you cannot refill the mug in the parks).  The mugs now have a chip inside the base that keeps track of when it can be used.  The Refillable Mug expires at midnight the day that you check out.  The chip “talks” to the drink machines, and you will see a display screen over the drinks that tells you when your mug expires.  You also have to wait 2 minutes between refills (this is just to cut down on people cheating the system).

REFILLABLE MUGS / DRINKS:

Here is a little information about the Refillable Mugs you will receive at Disney:

Your refillable mug can only be refilled at the Disney Resorts (not in the parks) at the quick service dining locations.

You can fill your mug with, water, coffee, hot chocolate, tea & Coke products (often there is a Hi-C or Powerade option).

As far as water inside the parks goes, you can either purchase bottled water or you can go to any counter service restaurant inside the parks and request a cup of tap water for FREE!  I suggest bringing along crystal light packets or mio in case you want to add some flavor to your water.

Cokes are most definitely NOT FREE in the parks!

There is one place in Epcot called “Club Cool” where you can sample different Coke products from around the world for free.
